Advocacy Matters

Mental Health Law Focus

The Project has been set up specifically for the benefit of people with mental health problems in Fife. The project is funded by the Scottish Legal Aid Board and is run in partnership with Fife Rights Forum and Citizens Advice and Rights Fife. The aims are to provide a range of mental health specific information, provide training to solicitors and advisors on mental health related legal issues, provide legal advice to advisers who provide advice to people with mental health problems in fife and to accept client referrals from advisers where the client has a mental health problem and requires representation in proceedings before the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland or has a complex legal enquiry related to the Mental Health Acts and is eligible for civil legal aid (Direct Client Advice and Representation Service).
