Complaints against a member of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland

 

Any complaint relating to a judicial member of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland requires to be sent in the first instance to the Judicial Office for Scotland.  Please use the links below to access the Complaint Form which should be used.

If you are unhappy with a decision of the Tribunal, then the appropriate way to challenge that decision is by means of an appeal to the relevant superior court - see "Appeals against Tribunal Decisions".

 

 

 

Complaints re the Administration

 

If you wish to make a complaint concerning an administrative issue in relation to the Tribunal, your complaint should be made either by email to mhtscomplaints@scotcourtstribunals.gov.uk or by letter to:

Once we receive your complaint, we aim to provide you with a response within 5 working days, by which time we would hope to be able to answer your complaint.  However, if we cannot respond fully within that timescale, we will let you know when we expect to be able to do so.

When submitting your complaint, please provide as much detail as possible regarding the issue your complaint is about, in order to enable us to provide a substantive response in the first instance.
